A huge THANK YOU to the Assisting Hands Home Care Richmond Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team and all of our supporters. WE DID IT! With your generous support we EXCEEDED our team fund raising goal of $2,500 before walk day and we are still going! On Saturday (Walk Day) several team members got together and walked to recognize the greater Richmond area Walk Event. Beautiful day to support a wonderful and worthy cause. The Alzheimer’s Association has extended the donation deadline to December 31st so if you still have time to contribute if you haven’t already done so. Thank you again for your support and to the team for helping us get to our goal.

October 27 – I am so GRATEFUL and IMPRESSED by FeedMore, Senior Connections and HCRN. This morning a team from Health Community Resource Network (HCRN) participated in a program coordinated by Senior Connections through FeedMore that will provide meals to 510 seniors. Normally seniors can get meals through Senior Connections sponsored Friendship Cafes, however due to the pandemic, many seniors can’t leave home to go to the Friendship Cafes to get these meals. So the program has pivoted to get meals out to them. The vans that once picked the seniors up to bring them to the Friendship Cafes to eat, will leave FeedMore tomorrow full of the grocery bags that were packed this morning. How awesome is that!

Connie Pryor is not only great at her job she is also super creative at making sure happy hours don’t disappear during this pandemic. Thank you!

October 6 – Thank you to Anthology of Midlothian for the opportunity to conduct one of our Dementia Workshops to the local community. We are very impressed with the beautiful and state of the art community that is being built by the team at Anthology. Can’t wait for it to open in early 2021!
Anthology of Midlothian (Midlothian, VA): A special thank you to our guest speakers Eric Rohr and Cathy Hamlin with Assisting Hands Home Care. Without the assistance of trained professionals, many of us would find it difficult to have open and honest conversations about behavioral changes and cognitive impairment. Follow our Facebook page for information about our upcoming events.

October 2 – I had the pleasure of participating in the CrossRidge Safe & Healthy at Home Resource Fair yesterday, October 1st in the beautiful CrossRidge neighborhood in Glen Allen. It was a gorgeous fall day and dozens of residents came out to learn about the useful services of almost 30 different vendors. It was great to be outside, it was great to see people (we were all masked and socially distanced) and great to have the opportunity to share about Assisting Hands Home Care Richmond.
