Two primary factors influenced my decision to become involved in the field of home care. First, the meaningful relationships I formed with my clients and their families during a decade of working in the reverse mortgage industry gave me a deeply personal understanding of how aging in place plays an essential role in optimizing seniors’ quality of life. Seeing firsthand how much happier, healthier, and independent older adults can be when they’re able to continue living at home, I was inspired to do more to help them achieve that goal. That inspiration led to my passion for home care because it can be the ideal solution for many aging adults who need assistance to be able to live at home safely and comfortably. Second, and most importantly, the field of home care aligns with my strong belief in the shared values of kindness, compassion, integrity, creativity, and accountability, all of which form the foundation of the services we provide to our clients in the safety and comfort of their own homes. At Assisting Hands Home Care Richmond, we’re committed to living these values every day. We believe every client deserves kindness and compassion in the ways we care for them and their families. They rightfully expect us to act with integrity as we assist them with their private and personal situations in the sanctity of their homes. We have to be flexible, using creativity to come up with customized solutions to meet their unique needs, and the people we serve need to know we’ll be accountable for delivering on the promises we make to them.
